Hike through the Klausbachtal – the valley of the golden eagles

Via Ferrante for beginners and families

On the trail of the “Salzsäumer”, the tour leads you through the valley Klausbachtal, the historical salt trade route over the Hirschbichlpass to Weißbach in Austria. This route used to be a central connection, for centuries, salt was transported by pack animals to the Pinzgau. Today, the valley Klausbachtal is one of the most favorite hiking areas in the national park Berchtesgaden and in the hiking village Ramsau. Our mountain guide embarks you on this journey through the Klausbachtal. Passing the Ragert Alm and the Bindalm , this tour brings us to the feeding game. With a little bit of luck, we can even see the Berchtesgaden deer. The way leads us further to a suspension bridge with a stunning view on the creek Klausbach and, hopefully, some eagles that live in the Klausbachtal. In the valley Klausbachtal, the nature and its dynamic is perceptible. Our mountain guide shows you the nature and its power. At the end of our hike, we have the chance to take a break at Hirschbichl and have some Bavarian “Brotzeit”. We take the bus back to the parking space from which our shuttle will bring us back to the campground.
