What can I do in Berchtesgaden in winter?

The extensive network of hiking trails makes winter hiking a pleasure, and for fun in the snow we recommend the nearby toboggan runs. Cross-country skiing trails & snowshoe hikes are also available locally. Berchtesgaden also has several family ski areas. However, if you prefer longer slopes, larger ski areas in Austria are only about 30 minutes away.

What are the must-see attractions in Berchtesgaden?

As an adventure region, Berchtesgaden naturally has numerous attractions worth seeing. We wholeheartedly recommend the Berchtesgaden Advent during the Christmas season. However, if you only have a few days to spare, we recommend a hike up the Obersalzberg directly from the resort. From there, you can take a leisurely stroll to the Windbeutelbaron. The departure point for the Kehlsteinhaus & the Obersalzberg Documentation Center are also located there.
